    Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer/Staff Level Position to join our team at Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Mississippi. In this role, you will lead the site's Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) processes to maintain and ensure execellent and proactive Site FOE compliance and will utillize the Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Operating System (ARBOS). Work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and overall adequacy. In this role you'll have an opportunity to build a strong understanding of assembly and test operations as they relate to rocket engine testing, support & processing, assembly & disassembly, including critical lift and ordnance operations.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Working under supervision:

     

    60% - Daily interface with management, employees, and customers in Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) process matters. Activities are performed in accordance with organization and program standards and procedures.

     

    10% - Identify, support/lead continuous improvement projects associated with FOE related processes.

     

    10% - Develop/maintain FOE metrics, reporting charts,  developing and updating/statusing Enterprise Support Plan(s) and giving presentations on a periodic basis .

     

    10% - General staff level duties as assigned to meet customer and company goals and objectives

     

    10% - Engage in, and become proficient with the ARBOS tools and principles.

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Additionally, individual must be able to obtain and maintain NASA Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) security clearance.

     

     

    Additional Requirements:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to resolve conflict, flexibility and adaptability, problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with internal and external customers.
    • Initiative & ability to perform work assignments with minimal direction in a team environment.
    • May require ability to travel up to 10%.
    • Computer skills, MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
    • Ability to analyze & develop plans and schedules.
    • Potential employees are expected to comply with Aerojet Rocketdyne’s “Code of Ethics,” and be knowledgeable Safety, Health and Environment Management Systems, and physical and health hazard control programs/methodologies associated with the work place, work practices or equipment.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Understanding of AS9100 Quality Management standards.

    An understanding of aerospace assembly and testing systems, processes and Foreign Object Elimination program requirements.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
