Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Project/Product Engineer for our Huntsville, AL location. The Senior Project Engineer will plan and perform propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under limited general direction, you will implement design and analysis tasks, special studies, experiments, and hardware/test requirements. Under limited general direction, the Senior Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices:
65% - Support Engineering teams working on solid rocket motor development and production program tasks/problem resolution, etc. Coordinate engineering work; manage technical progress, risk, schedule, and cost as needed.
15% - Monitor technical progress and interface with Program Management, Aerojet Rocketdyne customers, and other Aerojet Rocketdyne functional organizations to understand and develop resolution to program technical issues.
10% - Provide technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development organizations for business development activities such as writing white papers or preparing and presenting technical briefings to customers.
5% - Support the technical lead on proposals to government customers or prime contractors for propulsion development or technology programs.
5% - Provide inputs to written and verbal status reports to Engineering lead, Aerojet Rocketdyne Management, and provide input and leadership at product team meetings.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and five (5) or more years of directly related experience. Three (3) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired. CAD knowledge is desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
