Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst to join our team in Huntsville, AL.(Alternate locations include Camden, AR and Culpeper, VA)

 

In this role, you will provide Earned Value Management support for pre-established budget baselines assigned to Supply Chain Material Program Management (MPM). The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge base:

  • Earned Value Management
  • Cost accounting, general ledger, and command media
  • Governmental accounting methods, procedures, and budgeting requirements
  • Principles of business management, including office methods and procedures
  • Computer systems and applicable software
  • Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Budget development and control, forward pricing and performance measurement systems

And the ability to:

  • Utilize Earned Value Management techniques to monitor program performance
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data in various forms and formats
  • Effectively coordinate schedules and work flow
  • Apply general accounting and auditing principles and procedures
  • Perform mathematical calculations
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including preparing comprehensive, clear and concise accounting and variance reports and financial statements
  • Analyze data and draw sound conclusions
  • Utilize metrics associated with management best practices
  • Apply financial practices and processes to develop and justify budget and forecast, prepare and monitor organizational financial requirements
  • Work collaboratively with team members from internal and external organizations in the achievement of common goals
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Use a variety of computer systems to prepare reports and documents
  • Operate in a team environment

This position may be filled at this level as posted or one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

80% - Assist in the preparation of program level Estimates at Completion (EAC), Estimates to Complete (ETC) and Variance Analysis Reports (VAR) by providing and analyzing material and labor actuals, estimated actuals, open commitments and other metrics to the assigned Control Account Manager (CAM). Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly reports reflecting labor analysis, material actuals, estimated actuals, open commitments, etc. Support program reviews and EAC reviews.  This includes the ability to provide a cursory review/analysis to ensure data communicated is timely, accurate, traceable to budgets and in a format conducive for deep dive analysis. Interface with other Supply Chain and Financial disciplines such as Scheduling, Business Management and Program Office.

 

10% - Maintain document integrity and traceability by establishing and maintaining well-organized electronic filing systems and documentation.

 

10% - Supporting special projects related to continuous improvement within the Supply Chain organization through data collection and analysis.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field with six (6) years' applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Good analytical skills and be highly comfortable using Microsoft Excel for developing analysis tools, tabulating and charting data with complex data sets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of working in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to see beyond the spreadsheet. Understand the customer needs and why, recommend or present solutions as required.

The ideal candidate would have one or more additional proficiencies in:

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE);
  • Access databases;
  • ERP Systems & Manufacturing Environments;
  • Continuous Improvement.

 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
