We are seeking a first-level Manager to provide leadership over Production Scheduling and Material Requirements Planning at our Redmond, WA location. 

 

This person will be responsible for leading an organization comprised of approximately 10 salaried direct reports.  The Scheduling & Material Planning Manager is a direct report to the Senior Manager, Scheduling & Material Planning at the Redmond site. Primary areas of focus include the development and management of Production Build Plans, the execution of the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and associated process performance metrics.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

50% - Lead salaried employees in Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) using Oracle requirements planning system:

  • Work with Program Planning team members to ensure seamless integration of Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) demand into the site Master Production Schedule.
  • MRP Planning execution activities to ensure compliance and achieve annual operating plan objectives, and program deliverables
  • Material Line of Balance reporting and analysis
  • Schedule and release of manufacturing orders to Operations, and purchase order requisitions to Supply Chain
  • Partnering with Operations, Warehousing and Logistics team members to implement Kanban and other material replenishment strategies in production work areas
  • Support Internal Audit and MMAS Audit requests, as required

30% - Lead team to operate within the site’s Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning (SIOP) framework:

  • Tactical support to shop stand ups / status mtgs.
  • Near-term factory resource load analysis and shop dispatch
  • Loading of other independent demand
  • Reporting and schedule impact assessment of constraints risking on-time completion on released work orders
  • Identification, prioritization, and reporting of constraints impacting on-time release of Planned orders
  • Production control activities to support accurate work order status and tracking of Work-in-Process (WIP)

20% - Business Process Maturity:

  • Skills management
  • Lead / support site continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure process compliance to AS9100 and MMAS standards
  • Incorporate best practices and lessons learned into process standard work
  • Support initiatives promoting safety, diversity, ethical behavior, increased employee engagement and career development.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management/Administration or other related discipline and nine (9) years of progressive experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Position requires an in depth understanding of customer/program needs, manufacturing, and assembly / test operations.  In addition, this position requires significant knowledge and experience working with, managing, and planning within ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred), and utilizing these systems’ capabilities for scheduling and capacity planning.  APICS certification is strongly desired. The successful leader will be a hands-on leader working with his/her team on a daily basis. It is essential for any candidate to be a leader of corporate initiatives promoting safety, diversity, ethical behavior, increased employee engagement and career development. Experience working in a cross functional environment is preferred.

 

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.  Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Pay range for this position:

100,000 - 147,333 per year
