We are seeking an Engineer to join our Systems, Development & Verficiaton team at our Huntsville, AL office. This site operates on a 9/80 work schedule.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

80% - Operating under direct supervision, the candidate will be supporting, Production & Development programs, including system integration, solid rocket motor system development & verification, planning, test planning, testing in various environments, solid rocket motor system and subsystem test, test equipment & facility coordination, test article assembly coordination & hardware assessment, instrumentation requirements and coordination, test readiness review & risk assessment and verification & test report documentation.

 

20% - Travel in support of customer meetings and off-site testing as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related technical discipline plus two (2) years experience in a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong academic track record is required. An advanced degree is desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

 

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.  Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Requires the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
